Fly on a leaf

Overall a much better day at work and a more productive one. Those who know me well will know that I detest heat and humidity and today seemed to get worse as it went on. As I had a lot to do when I got home, and I felt too hot to go too far, I went on a short wander at Itchingfield. On my return along the hedgerow I spotted this fly resting on a leaf and as it was quite conspicuous, I thought it would be worth a picture. As it seemed quite a clear image, I felt it was worth being today's image. Flies are not the most popular of insects but this one seemed to stand out and ask to be photographed!
