Watching Boats

Noticed this ship heading out of the Cromarty Firth on the way out of work tonight so headed round to Nigg to get a shot as she went through the narrow entrance to the Firth.

The Ruby Princess is owned and operated by Carnival Cruise Corporation and can carry 3,080 passengers with a crew of 1,200. Built in 2008 by the Fincantieri shipyard in Italy, which also built the new Queen Elizabeth in 2010 and, famous for other reasons, the Costa Concordia in 2005.

Had a chat with some of the local photographers and they said that during the summer season approximately 50 ships of a similar size head to the Firth and apparently on Monday 3 will be in at the same time.
