At Symonds Yat: Canopy....
This is view when your lying on your back. Its a view I rarely take in. I am only in this position because I have climbed the hill from the stunning riverside at Symonds Yat to the forest car park at the top. I dont know what the gradient it. I not clued up in that way. I can however, measure it in extreme intakes of air and out of breathlessness.
We brought the bikes and the dog. The forest tracks provide an exhilarating decent on the red route down through curvy paths laden with tricky natural obstacles. Its amazing how all the fun is on the ground and eye level. Of course I am thinking this as I lay on the ground after the event puffing from the climb back to the top. This view is amazing. I have cycled and walked 9 miles and found the best view flat on my back.
I would have stayed longer in this position. An entrancing mosaic watching the light move through the leaves. A towering up of trees gives a new perspective. I realise that everything on the ground has an end or a barrier. Trees go up into the sky. A persecutive that goes on and on. A refreshing view..........x
