White Ladies Priory
I decided it was about time I visited the White Ladies Priory as it is so close by and I had driven past it many a time. It is located down a small footpath in the middle of the countryside. It was very quiet and peaceful here with lots of birdsong, I heard my first cuckoo this year.
The White Ladies Priory comprises the ruins of a late 12th century church of a small nunnery of 'white ladies' or Augustinian canonesses. Charles II hid nearby in 1651, before moving to Boscobel House further down the road.
I have now back blipped photos from the short trip to East Devon.
