Grumpy Old Man

Armadale, Isle of Skye

Here's the 'Heb' tied up at the jetty in Armadale, Isle of Skye. We were visiting the garden at the Clan Donald Centre, where at the now ruined Armadale Castle Johnson and Boswell were guests in 1773.

This was the first of a number of gardens visited on this tour; I was asked to come aboard as 'Guest Lecturer' for a week and a good time was had by all in spite of the dull, sometimes wet weather.

After lunch we sailed for the NTS island of Canna where we had a look at the walled garden of Canna House and explored the surroundings. I was fortunate enough to meet a friend who took us for a jaunt in her Landrover over to the church, now a new Art Centre, on the neighbouring island of Sanday - there is a bridge, btw!
