North to Inverewe Garden
After leaving Dunvegan the good ship Hebridean Princess sailed out of the loch and around the northernmost point of Skye, heading for Loch Ewe. Rounding the point, we entered the famous WW2 anchorage and came to a stop opposite the village of Poolewe. Although sheltered there was a fairly stiff breeze blowing which continued throughout our visit.
On Saturday morning the tenders came out again and ferried us ashore to Inverewe Garden, where luckily the sun shone upon us for a while. So much in flower in this northern spot and the walled garden was coming alive with new vegetables and flowers. Always a delight and a surprise to those who were visiting for the first time.
After leaving the garden we set sail for Ullapool, where we were loaded on to a coach to pay a visit to Corrieshalloch Gorge and the Falls of Measach.
