A thoughtful gift

Before we got on the road yesterday morning, Julieanne (Mel's mom) gave me this little Christmas ornament to remember the trip by. She picked it up at Ironstone Winery while I was undoubtedly focused on tasting as many wines as possible.

I had a great time hanging out with Julieanne while we were there - I taught her how to knit (well she clearly already knew how but just needed a refresher course) and cooking in the cabin with her and Mel was a lot of fun. Since my own relationship with my mom is very untraditional at best, it was great to spend time with my mom for the week, Julianne.

Last night, I used a felt tip pen and wrote all of names on the little guy's belly and on the bottom put the date and location of the trip. I'm super excited to have another ornament for my small but growing collection and will look forward to seeing this guy on our tree next December!

(Oh! And I backblipped the last five days too!)
