Tree in a Pot

I travel past this tree not frequently but quite a few times in the year, every time stopping to take a shot.

Maybe it's the statuesque pose on top of the brow or it's solitariness that strikes me. An imposing tree which you cannot fail to notice from the road. Today it looks rather bonsai...ish potted up on the horizon. I am a tree lover...not a tree hugger I might add at this point.

I did try getting a few hare shots but even with a long lens they didn't look anything on camera which was disappointing really considering how intense it was trying to stalk them in the late afternoon.

Sorry am really getting behind more behind in commenting :(( Our internet here is rarely speedy. I've been counting 15secs between each page change so you can see what I'm up against. We are rural but less than 8 miles from GCHQ - how does that work?!
