New Glass

I'm doing a few shots this weekend for some good friends of mine, John and Kate. It's Kates family wanting a few shots of themselves all together, and even though I'm far from a 'photographer' I am someone who takes photographs and is fortunate to own a few nice bits of kit. Therefore I've offered my services, and thought to celebrate the occasion I'd stretch to a new lens - only a 50mm Prime Lens, but something new nonetheless.

It arrived yesterday but since then I've been at work, slept and been at work. Works hard at present, last night I got in at 10.10pm after leaving the house at 7am. This morning I left at 6am and got in at 7pm.... that meant time for a play.

My main focus was f1.8 and what it could do for me. This shot is an early practice, but I can see me having lots of DoF and bokeh based fun over the coming weeks.

Now I'm off to start looking at modules for my ILM course in Business Management. The fun never stops.
