Green, so green

I wanted to share a picture of this field for a couple of reasons. After our dreadful winter, I'm certain I speak for all us Hoosiers when I say how much I appreciate this vivid green field. Also, although you can't tell yet, this is an enormous field of spearmint plants, a very profitable crop in our area. When these plants are cut later this Summer, the whole area will smell just like gum! It is so fun to drive around with the windows open and breathe in that fragrance! Sadly, this crop is extremely destructive to the soil so they only grow it for a couple of years then must replace it with something else.
