Marton Arms
We had a late night, last night. Here we are just after breakfast, this morning, all looking surprisingly well, even if we didn't all feel it.
I didn't have any real plans for the day except to hang out with Dan and Abi but also catch up my washing and sort out the cottage. This is the problem with travelling so often and I'd really love to get a couple of weeks at home.
Milly came over when she finished work and we decided to go across to the Marton Arms in Thornton in Lonsdale for some lunch. It was a gorgeous sunny day, so we were able to eat in the garden. Just over the road is St Oswald’s church where Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was married. Dan is a big fan of the 'Sherlock' TV series so he was interested - if initially disbelieving - to find out that the character was named after the minister who conducted the marriage ceremony.
