Year 2, Day 123 - Devastating

At lunchtime, I went onto the BBC News website to discover that the Mackintosh School of Art was on fire. It started in the basement and the fire tore through the building very quickly by all accounts. I don't think I fully understood how much the fire had taken hold until later in the day when the reports came in about the roof over the library collapsing. Then watching the film footage on the BBC News this evening, my heart was in my mouth.

I studied Architecture on the building next door and spent a lot of time, along with fellow students, in the Art School itself. Such a sad loss today. I still can't believe such an iconic building is being destroyed. :(
