Dock Shieldbugs Docking On a Dock Flower
Dock shieldbugs are so ubiquitous and unexciting that I don't usually bother to tog them.
I spotted this pair docked right at the top of a dock plant. I love the delicate flowers of this dock, not sure which one it is. Quite nice to get the boiler chimney out of focus in the background.
Have been talking nettles and dock leaves to a few people lately. Someone was telling me that at the nursery school where his wife works they have an area known as nettle alley where the children play, risking getting stung. No doubt they have dock leaves to hand. A good thing I think. Children are molly-coddled too much these days.
