5/24/2014 ~ iPhone Photographer at the Tacoma Art Museum, Exhibition "A Punch of Color: Fifty Years of Painting by Camille Patha" in Tacoma, Washington
Visited the Tacoma Art Museum to see the inaugural exhibition of work from Project 562 - Photographic Presence and Contemporary Indians by Matika Wilbur. The exhibition Featured 40 Native American portraits accompanied by stirring audio narratives from select sitters. With Project 562, photographer Matika Wilbur aims to document every federally-recognized tribe in the United States. The exhibition had portraits where the individuals were allowed to choose the location where they would be photographed and choose to wear either traditional or contemporary clothing. There were also recordings from the individuals on selected topics that was asked by Matika.
More information regarding the project and Matika Wilbur can be found here.

The photographs were a mix of digital and film and is an exhibition worth seeing if you can make it to Tacoma. Since the project is only partially completed the plan will be for additional exhibitions in the years to come as she continues to capture pictures and recordings from all federally-recognized tribes in the United States.
As a bonus the museum was also exhibiting, A Punch of Color: Fifty Years of Painting by Camille Patha. This was the last weekend of her work being on display and it was great.
A few other images taken while walking around the museum can be seen here.
A great day with some sun shine and warm weather, with lots of clouds of course.
Hope everyone's weekend is going well, have fun!
