Crab Hunting...........
........It really was quite a day.
We didn't realize that it was a special day on the river. It was Mullum to Brunz Paddle...it happens here once a year...last year there was a recorded 812 paddlers.
So you can imagine how busy it was out there today.
On arrival at Blue Crab beach (my name for it) we were met by 3 Dragon boats (from different parts of the Shire) and lots of lovely women...they have all suffered from Breast Cancer and they get together and row the long boats.
I saw blokes in tutu's and rainbow wigs paddle boarding...boats... kayaks...canoes and the usual idiots who like the speed (I guess I did too once)...however the funniest and most beautiful thing I saw was a boat of Pirates Mum Dad ... two kids...and a black dog being towed by the sea rescue bloke by his fancy water bike thingy...their little boat was really lovely but....they looked miserable....I never did find out what happened.
Well it was another fabulously cloudless day....Flynn and his friend Willow found lots of crabs and got really muddy.....Willows Dad who is a Chef...cooked fabulous pizza and apple and custard tarts......(Adventures are always better with lots of good food)....I had my thermos of tea and I got to take the Octapod out for a little bit of a spin. It was a bit too busy on the river for me ....... I need a lot of space to go around in circles until I get it right......I am learning though.......and maybe next year I might join in..it looked like a lot of fun.
