Mackerel Fayre

It's been a lovely day today so we had breakfast in the garden and then got the bikes out and cycled along the undercliff path into Brighton. We went to see the annual Mackerel Fayre and Net Blessing held in front of the Fisherman's museum. It's a tradition which goes back many years and was attended by the Mayor and Mayoress of Brighton, The Lord Lieutenant of East Sussex who came on behalf of the Queen, and a Parish Priest who blessed the nets. I took quite a lot of photos which you can see here, but chose to blip this one so you can see the whole scene.

We cycled back to the Marina where we sat and had a drink in the sun, then played table tennis, and went for a walk. When we came back to the get the bikes we decided to sit and have something to eat at an Italian restaurant - the weather and atmosphere was too nice to go home!

We've had a really nice day and cycled 11 miles in total!
