Fame....

I took this picture back in late winter but it's relevant for today. I'd put some pictures of it on my blog last year when I'd found them and then forgot about them. In January I was contacted by Channel 4 to ask if they could use them. Well I wasn't too happy with the ones I'd posted so I asked if I could go back and take some on a blue sky day. The others were a grey sky day and I didn't want Manchester to live up to its stereotype.

The artist of the sculptures had put Channel 4 in contact with me about them. The premise of the programme is that a person has something to sell and there are four wealthy individuals in four rooms to sell to. The seller has to try for the best deal.

I wasn't quite sure how my pictures would fit in with it. But it turned out that the artist was selling one of his own sculptures. He wasn't really that interested in the price. What he wanted was an introduction to someone in the art world who might promote his art. He did sell his sculpture and he did get that all important introduction. He's going to have an exhibition in London.
