I sat alone and thought of all of this after the race. Watched manly men hug and shake hands comforted by the long awaited end of the week safely brought to a conclusion. Proud families posing with competing sons, nephews, uncles, fathers and brothers. High fives for competitors, for team mates and for the groundstaff team members....

And I missed my friend who couldn't come today.... No man is an island.....Well no happy man is an island...just saying
