Flames

This afternoon about 900 people were evacuated because the fire was within 1/2 mile or so of many houses that are on a dead end road with only one way out, and the wind is very changeable. Firefighters, the planes dropping retardant, and helicopters dropping water have done an amazing job of keeping the fire from homes.
Here there is a photo of a plane dumping retardant and of the head section of the fire. It has burned about 250 square miles.
I took this photo about 2 miles from my house.
