Thai Cultural Festival in West Sussex

I feel so sorry for charities which go to great trouble to put on money raising events only to wake up to rain on the day. We’ve been going to the Thai Festival at Stedham in West Sussex for about 12 years now, and probably almost half have been marred by rain. But there is still something special about seeing Thai dancers in their elegant costumes on a village green outside a village pub in the heart of Sussex. The food was as good as ever, cooked and eaten outdoors. Even in the mizzling rain. The dancers, in spite of waiting shivering in the cold and rain, danced with big smiles and bare feet.

The event is organised by the Mudita Trust which saves young girls from a life of prostitution in Thailand, by providing schools and education. Today we met the grandson of Mudita, who is now part of the Trust. You can read more about the Trust Here in a previous blip.
