Life in Sunny Dubai

Mono Monday - Weather

As hosted by Paladian...

I SO wish I could have blipped the horrendous sandstorm we experienced as we re-entered the UAE yesterday. It was BAD! The sun was high in the sky creating plenty of glare, sand blew across the road making visibility poor; it was HOT, hazy and really horrible - but that's what you get in a desert!

Today we didn't have a sandstorm but we got a typical summer's day. Haze, glare, heat...  hopefully you get a sense of it from this picture. Thing is, one doesn't want to take a picture when the sky looks so bad and you can barely see anything.

For the record, this was the weather forecast for today:
Sunny with a high of 40degC (real feel 43) with 39% humidity and 10m visibility. G commented on how cool Dubai is (compared to Muscat of course which was 46degC yesterday).
As I type at 10pm, it is 32degC but feels like 38 with a 9kmph North Westerly wind summarised as being Clear and very warm! There you go. Some places were never meant to be inhabited.

The work week has started with our Go Bananas drive to raise money for World Cancer Research and earn an extra day's holiday in the process. Banana and Nutella crepes made by Emeline today. Think we raised around £100. Banana milk shakes tomorrow. This week is going to take its toll on my waistline I can tell. I'm going to need a foodie decadence budget!!
