Orla & Conor

Today was nicer, so we headed out for a drive. We ended up in Burnham-on-Sea. It was dismal, I have a real problem with this kind of seaside resort. We had lunch in a seaside cafe then walked along the promenade. Orla fulfilled a long-held ambition and had some candy floss. We briefly went on to the (very windy) beach and Conor definitely said "donkey". That pretty much exhausted the attractions of Burnham-on-Sea, so we headed back to Bristol.

It was only 3pm when we got back, so we decided to go to the zoo. It was great, apart from the fact that we were too late for the face-painting and Orla was devastated. She cried and cried and cried. Ed told her to think of something that makes her happy. She started thinking about the "Bratayley" videos she has started watching on YouTube and began to laugh. "See", Ed told her, "you can control your emotions". No I can't dad", she said, "because I am only a child".
