at home with an Ivysaurus

Laughing!

We throw Ivy about like she's a rag doll alot of the time and she loves it! This is her having just been thrown onto the bed by Euan. It's handy having her so little.

This morning I attempted something new- showering with Ivy awake and in the bathroom. She did very well- but she did get soaking wet after she stood up on the side of the bath and put her hand in to direct the water at her head.

We skipped Rhyme time today- since she was still asleep 5 minutes before it starts. Had to go on an errand to the pharmacy to pick her up antibiotics. She had a cystogram at Raigmore tomorrow because she had a suspected UTI back in December. I think I probably jsut messed up taking the urine sample and got either her hand or foot in it. They said we could go home (having been there for almost a week) if I could catch some of her urine in a cup. But of course a 10 week old Ivy wouldn't pee on demand. In the end (after about 4 hours of trying) I had to feed her, whilst balancing her over the cup. She peed all over me too. Euan managed twice on later trips in to get her to pee into a cup within a couple of minutes of having her nappy taken off- I'm sure Freud would have something to say about that.

She took her antibiotics very well (it's a 3 day course) and was particullarly pleased with the fact they were followed by a few sips of Actimel (I always follow antibiotics with probiotic drinks, don't see why Ivy wouldn't benefit too).

Went to Gaelic toddlers in the afternoon- they were playing outside Euan's classroom with playdough. It was very salty, Lisa said it was so salty to stop the kids from eating it and that Ivy would try some and then not want anymore. Ivy tried some- and then went back for more, so lost playdough playing priveledges. Instead she played with a box Euan found for her and then went in the fireescape to be shown cool glowing water in a bottle. I helped wash up after the snack at toddlers, whilst Ivy was surrounded by a gaggle of 3 year old girls, who love Ivy because she is basically the coolest doll ever. It all got a bit much for Ivy, who seemed to set of for the door in search of Euan. She has a very good mental map of buildings I think.

Put suncream on Ivy today- realised it's probably much easier to do now she's used to baby massage (she gets one everynight). It's essentially the same actions.

Bedtime has been ruined tonight by the fact Euan set of the smoke alarm cooking, just as she fell asleep. It's now 8.30pm and we've given up and Euan is going to cuddle her to sleep. I've spent the past half hour watching her alternate between howling and larking about- she even made a fairly valient attempt to climb up the curtains out of her cot.
