Oddity

This strange masonry head adorns the city council building. This building used to house the public library.
It’s possible that it’s James Craigie, who was mayor from 1902 -1913, and officially opened the library on the 3rd of June 1909.

Either way, he’s looking more like an extra from The Walking Dead, than a mayor. I must say I got quite a fright when I saw it, as I’ve never noticed it before.

It’s strange the things one notices when wandering around town with a camera.
