Strong tug, Strong rope

This is our new barge rope, a hawser we use to bring barges alongside our cranebarges. For a steelwire connection we need a crane or at least a winch to pull up our wire to the tow. But when you have to connect to a unmanned barge without power, you'll first drop off 8 riggers to the barge and they will connect our big black barge-rope by hand. With moving vessels, it is easy to understand that this is quite heavy work. This rope has a breaking strength of 245 metric tons, so basically, we cannot break it when our 208 tons Bollard Pull are applied statically. But beware for the dynamic forces, than it will snap like a twine.
