Signs of Spring
The apple blossoms are here.
This weekend, while we were away, a beautiful thing happened to our many apple trees on our property. A transformation from green leaves to thousands of white apple blossoms. Not only are they beautiful to admire, they smell sweet too.
Kaylee walked over to a tree to get a closer look, and was shocked at the sound heard high above her head. At a full run, she came inside to inform me that there were hundreds of bees in the apple trees. She was right - the bees were working hard pollinating the flowers and bringing back sweet nectar to their hives. Bumblebees and honey bees alike worked in harmony.
It was a peaceful, yet eerie sound ... the buzzing of a hundred or so bees. But they were so preoccupied by their tasks at hand, that they paid no attention to a family of on-lookers. I was able to stand close, capturing the beauty of the blossoms and of the bees at work. It was an amazing moment, and one that fuels my passion for photography. Nature is amazing!
