Today was our last day in Florence. We climbed the 400+ steps up the tower at Duomo to enjoy a 360 view of Florence. We got wobbly legs after we got to the top, so we decided to skip climbing the dome, which is even higher than the tower. I may regret it later, but at that moment when my brain lacks oxygen, that felt like the right decision.

After the tower we lined up to see the famed David at Accademia. We were pretty rushed for time, but we were so in awe of his stunning presence that we didn't want to leave. I've seen him many times but when he stood there right in front of you, it's not quite the same.

The afternoon was spent touring the Tuscany countryside and visiting vineyards. The rolling hills and the rows of grape and olive trees were simply beautiful. Everywhere was so picturesque that I find myself snapping away even through the windows.

We only had half an hour before our train departs, and we grasped every minute to take in the Florence scenery. It worked our perfectly that the sun was setting at that time. We got on one of the bridges, enjoyed yet another amazing gelato while admiring the spectacular display of warm colours of Florence.
