The incoming tide....thank heavens for gumboots!
Part of the poem titled "Bunda Cliffs"...by Petra White (taken from "The Incoming Tide")
The shelved-in sea hived with diagonals,
verticals, horizontals, slabs of sleek water
ferrying hazes of air in its crystal,
vapouring the desert’s tongue.
My new gumboots have earned their keep....yet again! They were again baptised today by the rushing incoming tide ....this time on the outside and the inside, as this wave rushed in higher and faster than expected and overflowed the rim! Sitting here in rather damp socks.
Thankfully the storm clouds held their rain until we were safely home and (mostly) dry inside the house.
