The amazing technicolour dream coat.............

This was our first opportunity to experience Vivid in Sydney. I was both excited about the idea of trying to photograph this celebration and more than a little anxious about how the 5 little people along for the ride would cope.
We understood there would be crowds.
We opted for Friday night....after school.
It was a frantically busy day and we managed to get in to Darling Harbour by 6 pm and had a wonderful italian dinner at Baia whilst watching the fireworks. Then we set out to discover the light.
The whole evening was wonderful. All of us stood up fairly well to the trekking around and juggling the tripod and tired feed......big and little people alike.
Finally we took the train back to the hotel and arrived around midnight. I set up my camera on the window ledge of the our room and this was the beautiful vista which I absolutely loved. I love the light on the water and the way the whole city is vibrant and looks like it is in party mode.I was really looking forward to blipping a pic of the sails of the Opera House in her many coats however in the end I couldn't decide which I liked best.

So all in all a GREAT Vivid experience......

We collapsed into bed ahead of our big Zoo day adventure tomorrow....... which turned into Vivid Take 2 ......a totally different experience...............
