Wildlife!

Today's blip features 'wildlife'. We were on our way to view a rescue dog which had caught my eye as a possible new addition. We were held up in the lane by this family of ducks - the drake (being a bloke) decided just to cut across in front of the car whereas the duck (being female) looked after the family and stayed put! Obviously wild I suspect rather than escaped domestic ducks.
The rather lovely dog was rescued from Slovenia and brought to the UK in rather a state - she was a street dog living wild. She was brought back to health and rehomed but for various reasons that did not work out so she has been in the centre now for about 6 months. She is extremely nervous of people, apart from the kennel handler, which I found slightly surprising if she had settled into a home for 6 months. I also have to think of my 2 grandchildren and their safety.
So whilst I would not be put off by a nervous dog as my previous one was similar the history made me decide against her. I do hope thought that the people going to see her this afternoon are able to give her a forever home and that she has a happy life.
