Full marks

Full marks to the local council who have put away their lawn mowers for the time being.

This fantastic display of oxeye daisies is on our local roundabout. Usually they get mown down before they have a chance to put on this amazing display, but this year all our verges have been left to flower and seed naturally. In our neighbouring district the verges are all cut. Very tidy, but oh so boring!

It seems to me that the wildflowers have been particularly abundant this year, the fields full of buttercups, the daisies and dandelions on the verges and, all gone now but a happy memory, the bluebells.
