Bridge Of Sighs, Cambridge

With the weather not being very good, another visit to Cambridge. As well as the shops, we did go round one of the Colleges as it did stop raining some of the time.

The College we went in was St John's College founded in the early 16th Century and divided up into a number of courts and a large chapel designed by Sir George Gilbert Scott. The tourist route takes you round the back of the College to the River Cam and the famous Bridge Of Sighs. This is often considered to be the symbol of Cambridge. Apparently, the side you see here is the only part that is decorated. The bridge links two different parts of the College over the river.
