Kittiwake with nest material

We went to Handa Island today, a wildlife reserve on the northwest coast of Scotland. There are around 200 000 seabirds nesting on the huge cliffs around the island. They are impressive to look at, but the birds are rather far away to photograph. There was heaps of noise, and lots of activity, including kittiwakes flying around the cliff tops above where they were nesting. We also got close to skuas, fortunately not too aggressive as they have no chicks as yet. Also red grouse, that also inhabit the interior of the island. It was a great day weatherwise, the best we've had so far.
