Sand, Surf, and Sun

We enjoyed this day from beginning to end. It was our last full day here at California's Central Coast for this May. Tomorrow we drive south and east toward our home in the Inland Empire.

So today we took our bicycles to the water's edge and pedaled toward Morro Bay, which is the community to the south of Cayucos. We had just purchased a used bicycle for me so it took a little adjusting to get the air in the tires to the correct pressure to make bicycling on sand as easy as possible. It was a lot of work pedaling on the sand and it was a lot of fun. Of course I pulled my camera out of my pocket to capture some shots of Mr. Fun riding his bicycle. He is the serious cyclist, so he did not take his phone from his pocket to capture photos of me -- no biggie.

Later in the day, we put the pooches in the car and drove them several blocks to the beach at 21st Street where there is adequate parking and a nice stairway entrance to the sand. These pooches love walking on the sand. So we walked and walked and walked.

We stretched this Memorial Day holiday into a LOOOOONG weekend and have enjoyed ourselves immensely.
