In the pink.....

I was given this bunch of deliciously blousy peonies yesterday, as a thank-you
The petals are the colour of raspberry ripple ice cream
Soft pink streaked with vanilla
The flowers are the size of tea-plates
With an exuberance of petals

Then, when I looked inside the blooms, there was all this hiding!

It was completely unexpected
And totally unnecessary

But that makes them all the more delicious
