Morning Exercise at Warren Hill, Newmarket

I got up early today so that I could photograph the racehorses being exercised and trained at Warren Hill, Newmarket. I arrived by just after 8am and was rewarded with plenty of photographic opportunities. Apart from the beautiful horses, the riders were very friendly and many said Good Morning to me and one rider said he was on a future Derby winner....! I chose this shot of two friendly ladies who came down the parallel track to the Moulton Road as a typical example of what can be seen.

Newmarket is a unique town that is totally surrounded by and lives and breathes Horse Racing. There is no other place in the UK quite like it, and it is special. The countryside around is shaped by man for Horse Racing and Stud Farms. I think it should have special protection as it is so unique and even if you are not into Horse Racing, it still has an atmostphere that is totally unique and unlike anywhere else you may have visited.
