THE BIG ADVENTURE:Day 5

Well, today we completed over 1200 kms of dusty, red, corrugated, rough gravel road. What a journey! We have arrived safely at Yulara (Ayers Rock /The Olgas), albeit with a few minorish disasters. Our water tank has been either punctured by a rock or some connection has come off with the extreme juddering and shuddering experienced over the past 3 days. Our traveling companions have had 3 flat tyres and bits and pieces of their caravan have systematically dropped off.......a screw top bottle of wine lost it's cap and went everywhere! A screw top!!! Cans of beer vibrated against each other and exploded!! Amazing!!

So, today was a loooong day and so today's blip is a ...........dromedary. These animals were brought to Australia in the 19 th century from Afghanistan and India and released into the wild when mechanized transportation took over. We saw one mob of these camels just as we reached the end of the gravel.

Very tired now so it's good night from me, and it's goodnight from him ;)
