Day5- South Uist and North Uist

The sun was shining out of a cloudless sky when we crawled out of the tent at a ridiculously early hour this morning, the sea was calm and there was a light breeze.

With a breakfast at the Lochboisdale café, of Bakewell tart and Mars bar cake, (as you do when you are heedless of calories and obesity on holiday), we left for North Uist and a campsite in the nature reserve of Balranald.
Here it was a different tale: cloudy but bright with a wind that might have been a Hebridean breeze, but to us soft Lowlanders was a mighty gale, which had us fighting with the tent as it was intent on soaring off to the here yonder.
The success was ours and with it up and pinioned to the ground, we managed a walk along the beach at Houghgarraigh beside the campsite.
A hairstyle? I don't think so! More like a thatch blowing in the wind.

His Lordship being anxious to imbibe some beer, means we are about to find the nearest hostelry, which may take some time.
