hiding in his house.........

For those of you who do not like spiders I apologize! I have three of four of these orb spiders around the outside of my house at the minute and although I am not a great spider lover I do love to watch them - they are fascinating - I watched this one yesterday catch a fly and then wrap it around with its silk! I am also fascinated that they build these houses, or at least that is what I think they do, probably someone with more knowledge of spiders can tell me different! A point to note - I had to get down directly below this to take the picture and was a tad nervous in case he decided to jump out of his house!!

Well this morning after all the excitement of the past almost two weeks, our new President was sworn in............mixed emotions by many however. He is brother to the late Bingu Wa Mutharika who had Malawi in chaos 3 years ago when we had no fuel, no commodities, inflation rising every day, currency devaluing daily and prices rising daily. So as I walked around town today and talked to people, they are worried that we will see the same again. Apparently Peter Mutharika our new President said he would take over where his brother left off! We live in hope that this will not be the case!
