Just outside the huge Tesco's in Byfleet , just inside the M25 is a strip of barren land banked gradually up to a treeline. The weeds growing up make it look like it's grassy but if you look closer you will see the concrete slabs through which they are breaking and the curve of a racetrack.

This is the first banked motor racing circuit as it was, at Brooklands. It is rare that we have history lying around unused like this but the Tescos and M&S here cut just inside the patch of the old racetrack. It's not until seen on google maps that you start to see the layout clearly and how the circuit would have been. Have met people who work at Brookland museum doing tours who will swear that late at night they have heard the sounds of old ghost cars racing the circuit.
