Colosseum at night

Time goes by too fast when one is having fun. Today is the last full day before life goes back to normal for us.

After a day of intense shopping (read: intense!), we had an early dinner and drinks at a hidden gem. This cafe boasts a spectacular view of the Colosseum, yet the prices are more than reasonable. We sat outside and enjoyed watching the magnificent building change colors during sunset.

We then had the opportunity to take an evening tour inside the Colosseum, which included and a sneak peek of the underground. I was floored by the majestic architecture and the opulence of the Roman civilization.

I consider myself to be one of the most fortunate people to be able to enjoy a reunion with my childhood friends in the Eternal City. We ate, drank and laughed lots. It was simply a grand time. We're already making plans to do this again in another 10 years.

Special thanks to DH and my parents for holding down the fort while I'm away. Another special thanks goes to Miss A who did 99% of the planning, and who constantly kept us in check.
