Sam's Meerkat

Sam's school trip to Edinburgh Zoo where he got busy with his camera. So many pictures to choose to remember his day, not least a lovely blurry shot of the lady panda's big old furry wurry head. Rumours abound that she is pregnant. But I loved this shot of a wonderful meerkat, multitasking by being both mesmerised and on red alert all at the same time.

Sam had left the house at 7am and wasn't back home until 8pm, only to get up the next day for Stirling safari park......that boy knows how to squeeze the natural world out of the school activities week choices.

And bless his soul, did he not come home the next day from Stirling with a present for Tess of a lovely wee squirrel pencil sketch drawing and for his mum and dad a wee momento of his trip, a meerket ornament. Granted, it's something only a mother could love but I really do as it will make me smile and think of Sam every time I see it.
