Richmond Hill

We went across London today to visit Richmond and Richmond Park. On a pleasantly warm Saturday afternoon with some sunshine, everybody seemed to be out enjoying the riverside walks, the parkland, the pubs and restaurants. It was very busy (with the crowds boosted by the rugby final at nearby Twickenham).

We had an enjoyable day in this lovely environment, with a pleasant afternoon tea at the Richmond Gate Hotel.

This view is down the hill, across Terrace Field with the splendid Victorian country house, which is now the Petersham Hotel, in the background. What an amazing location for a hotel, with views down the hill to the River Thames.
