I'm on a tram
Edinburgh's controversial tram system opened to the public today, three years later than planned and £200 million over budget. The whole of Edinburgh was either on one, photographing one, or both.
We’ve been promised an integrated, city wide transport system. The website promises that care has been taken to make bus and tram travel as integrated as possible. “Passengers can plan their journeys across both modes of transport - creating seamless routes for travel, wherever they live in the city”.
Any hopes of that went out the window when I bought a day ticket from a bus driver. I asked if it could be used on trams as well as buses (it can), and he replied 'I've no idea love. The trams are nothing to do with the buses'.
