The View

from The Shard!

Today this country lass headed down to the big smoke to catch up with an old friend. My friend had been given tickets to go up the Shard and very kindly invited me to join her, as her boyfriend isn't too keen on heights. On our way to the Shard, I was given a fantastic tour of the area by my unofficial tour guide. Highlights include:-

Witnessing three weddings (one on the steps of St Pauls and another in one of the churches where they filmed Four Weddings and a Funeral)
Seeing a lucky chimney sweep in full kit, including a lucky black cat on a lead
Visiting Smithfield Market (where you could sell your wife back in the day)
Exploring Borough Market
Being completely over-excited at the sight of The Shard and then being even more excited with my friend when we entered the lift to go up to the 68th floor.
The stunning views and taking shots of my friend doing crazy poses on the windows
Meeting new people and becoming official photographer for other tourists

It was an awesome experience and a very special day.
