A Fourteen Mile Leathered Snake

We are half way through the Isle of Man TT motorcycling festival.

Today is traditionally known as "Mad Sunday" That is the day when there are no cycle races but it is an opportunity for the fans to exercise their machines and prowess. Usually the results are mixed.

Here we are at Sulby Bridge looking back up the Sulby Straight.

Today however it is different. Instead of travelling at high speed there is fourteen mile echelon of motorcyclists travelling at modest speed in tribute to the promising rider Simon Andrews who died in an earlier motorcyle accident during a race in Northern Ireland.

There were several thousand cycles and what I found most heartening was the amount of support and goodwill from the spectators.

Everyone was waving.
