Landscape with cranes
As I walked up the side of Calton Hill this morning I noticed that the building activity on a gap site where there was archeological excavation last year is now firmly underway. Indeed Calton Road is presently closed because of it.
Then I raised my eyes and realised that the cranes were back - or rather more of them than I had noticed for a while. Clearly the capital is re-inventing parts of itself again as it has done for hundreds of years. It is in part what makes the cityscape so fascinating, from this vantage point and many others.
