... this might be a male Early Bumblebee. I was in the garden trying to take the irises with the lens-baby, before they finally disappear. Doing it very lazily, i.e. without a tripod, which I really needed, and as I walked past the pot of French Lavender I spotted this bee. I knew I'd pretty much got it in focus as I pressed the shutter. Lucky ;)
