Lunaria annua is to be preferred. You'll say ....
"Honesty is the best policy."
:¬))
"Lunaria annua, called honesty or annual honesty in English, is a species of flowering plant native to the Balkans and south west Asia, and naturalized throughout the temperate world."
There used to be an old road bridge, in sight of the M6: a smidgin South of Junction 42.
It washed away and was, eventually replaced. We didn't know, but it was "now" a foot-bridge. Any way on the way north, we kept seeing a huge carpet of pink and white over towards the new bridge.
Today we were up at Carlisle, with a mission fulfilled.
We knew we had plenty of time so a swift decko was in order. Turns out there's parking for a small number of cars and a path heading down the left bank and one heading off, away from the right bank. I suspect we'll be back there, possibly to utilise one of the picnic tables.
Funny. The radio's been wittering on about how rotten the weather's been.
NOT up here it hasn't matey.
