Shopping for a Dishwasher

The last time we had the home appliance repairman here to work on our dishwasher, he told us not to buy a new dishwasher because "they just don't make them like they used to." But that was many months ago, if not a couple years and it is time to replace ours.

So this morning we were on a mission to purchase a dishwasher and we neither one wanted to spend a lot of time nor a lot of money, so instead of going to one of the ginormous Home Depot stores or Lowes Home Improvement stores, we went to the local small business appliance dealer that is just down the street from where we live.

The dishwasher in the my photo is considerably more money than the model we purchased because this one has a stainless steel front. We simply wanted a white front. We also want a "quiet" model and the salesperson assured us that this would be a quiet appliance.

The bonus of going to this local small business is that they also replace garbage disposals and the one under our sink broke just a few days ago. So hip hip hooray for getting two tasks accomplished with one visit.

Both the new dishwasher and the new garbage disposal will be delivered and installed this coming Thursday morning and the price was affordable. I consider this a fabulous accomplishment for this Monday.

Good night from Southern California,
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
